Aloha Spirits of Hawaiʻi

About the Farm

Aloha Spirits of Hawaiʻi is a family-run sugarcane farm in Keaʻau dedicated to regenerative farming and the preservation of more than 20 Hawaiian sugarcane varieties.

The Challenge

Aloha Spirits of Hawaiʻi had the sugarcane, processing equipment, kitchen access, and interested buyers, but lacked the specialized equipment needed to safely sterilize fresh sugarcane juice for broader distribution. The high cost of this equipment created a major barrier to expanding production and accessing new markets.

How Mālama Da Farmer Grant Helped

Through the Mālama Da Farmer Grant, Aloha Spirits of Hawaiʻi was able to purchase a UV Sterilization Unit. This critical piece of equipment allows them to safely process locally grown sugarcane juice and expand into new markets.

Impact

This investment allows Aloha Spirits of Hawaiʻi to expand local sugarcane juice production, contribute to Hawaiʻi Island’s local food supply chain, and provide the community with a healthy, locally grown beverage.
