As a nonprofit organization, the Food Basket depends on the goodness of our community to help organize food and fund drives and to make donations to feed the hungry on Hawaiʻi Island, one person at a time.

Food AND financial donations are vital to sustaining island-wide services. We need food to distribute, and we also need funds to store, refrigerate, and deliver that food to folks who need it most.

Host a Food Drive

Hosting a food drive for The Food Basket is as easy as 1, 2, 3.

Host a Fund Drive

Organize a fund drive that makes sense for you and your organization. Some ideas:

  • Virtual fund drive for a birthday, school project, or other event. GoFundMe.com, Facebook Giving, and other donation platforms make it easy to raise funds quickly.

  • Raise funds through a car wash, rummage sale, or bake sale and donate the proceeds to Hawai‘i Food Basket.

  • Collect monetary donations along with your food drive.

  • Brown Bag It or Lose a Latte: School groups or offices skip purchasing their daily coffee or lunch and donate the money instead. Consider making it a challenge between departments.
